Day 5

247.6 today
Figured out to give myself the shot in the leg- without even feeling it.  :)
When you hold the skin in like a pinch, you don't feel the needle even enter.

Ate a large Gala apple for morning snack.
Had leftover wild rice, oven baked carrots, and pork steak for lunch.  (Not allowed on the diet.... but I didn't want to waste this good meal)
skipped the afternoon snack- due to guilt.
Due tot the stress of pulling the kids out of swimming, my 3 year old son throwing a complete fit in public, and then being hit by a softball while driving and getting a dent in my van door- I went home and then
had mini chicken and cilantro dumplings for dinner- because I was making them for the kids, more than I was really hungry.

went to bed doing the math in my head.  This diet costs me $25 a day.  I don't have a summer job or income, so I need to be frugal and honest with myself.  Do I really want to loose weight and then keep it off for good?  If so- I need to make the EFFORT to stick to the diet food list.  I need to make the conscience decision to make better food choices, and see how far I can go on this diet.

I have 80 pounds to loose.

Day 4 in the evening

So I planned ahead and packed my lunch and snacks in advance last night...... but never really read over the diet in full detail over the weekend.

I packed turkey deli meat, and orange, and an apple for work.  (I wasn't supposed to have turkey- only chicken)  But, I felt it was a healthy choice, so I went ahead and ate 100 calories of turkey meat, and the orange for snack.  Drank 4 big glasses of ice water (16 oz. each)

I was starving when I took the kids to DQ after gymnastics class, so I ordered a lite smoothie.  I got my strawberries in that way- and all for 150 calories.  I didn't feel deprived while the kids got cones.

We went to The Natural Pantry to pick up a few sauces, noodles, and miracle rice and miracle noodles which I am afraid to try.  (They look weird, have no flavor I hear- and are quite pricey @ $2.49 for a single portion)

Headed home to the pork steak, wild rice, and baked carrots that I had pre-made earlier today.  None of this was on the list of pre-approved foods- but I needed to each the food up, and I cooked it with no oils or added salt.  Not the best way to start off on my diet, but a healthier way to eat.  I could see myself making this meal once a month for the kids and I.

I also had TK make angel hair pasta with crab legs.  I took a few bites, and I would eat that for a meal in the future if I had to.  The pasta is not on my list of approved foods, so I will let the kids eat that for dinner tomorrow.

All in all- I drank a lot of water today, thought about foods that I can't eat about a thousand times today, and really started planning for my future when it comes to healthy meals for my family.  I didn't starve to death.... but should have eaten by 6pm and eaten an apple for an afternoon snack- so I don't get another lite smoothie.  I want to be more strict and follow the diet to the letter to see what results I can achieve.

Day 4

Woke up at 6am
went potty and weighed myself 247.6 down a smidge, so I am happy about that

Didn't gain the 4 pounds the doctor recommended, but I am sure I will loose plenty of weight anyway.

Shot before getting dressed.  Note to self- the faster I poke myself, the less I feel it.  Funny how I psych myself out before I give myself a shot.

Let my journey begin!

Days 1-3

Went to the Doctor today- Friday 6/17/11  verified that I am FAT!  Weight 249.2

Was given the quick run down on what to eat/not eat for the HCG diet to be successful.  Taught how to give myself the shot in the leg.  Scary.... but didn't hurt like I thought it would.


Days 1-3
I needed to eat, eat, eat as much as I possibly could to gain brown fat, so my body would be able to live off of this fat storage while on this strict diet for the next 40 days.

Told to try to gain 4 pounds over the weekend.  I thought that would be easy.... but only went up like 1 pound when I last checked.

By the evening of the 3rd day, I wasn't honestly interested in stuffing myself full of all my favorite foods like I had planned.  I didn't eat very much all evening.  I think the HCG shots are beginning to take effect on my mind and body now.
